Decision Making
A Model For Stability
Assignment #1
Midterm
Decision making is a crucial component that every public administrator must master. In the midst of unprecedented events, it is up to every public administrator to demonstrate superb leadership. Recently, COVID-19 made it difficult to lead and manage any organization, let alone a medical center that had funds cut. This piece illustrates the decision making process as a CEO of an urban medical center amidst COVID-19 and extreme budget cuts and asks how to tackle this situation without cutting jobs and services needed. This final paper talks about multiple ways to analyze external and internal factors as well as how to effectively lead and manage an organization headed in the red instead of the black.
When it comes to decision making, it is important for a public administrator to understand how to analyze problems that are going on around the organization. This assignment shows the understanding of terms such as external analysis and service area competitor analysis. This piece of work also shows how to determine these factors and how to be successful when using them.
In this piece, similar to the final, leadership and management must be shown at a very high level. At the very start of COVID-19, a lot of African American's and Hispanics specifically got the vaccine at a very low rate. Using all the material and knowledge gained within the class, this body of work sought out a plan to increase those very low vaccination numbers in lower income and minority communities. As a public administrator, coming up with solutions on the fly in order to protect the people is very important. This paper demonstrates the mastery in leadership and quick thinking to effectively better an organization during a difficult and unprecedented time.
