Policy Process
Standardized Testing Disparity
As a public administrator, part of the policy process is never being satisfied with the current system. Nothing is perfect. When looking at many policies that are embedded within American documents, a lot of people can get left out and receive little to no benefit. On the other hand, when it comes these policies, one group of people may receive an unfair amount of benefit. This body of work however looks at Standardized Testing and the No Child Left Behind Act and questions whether this policy does more damage than good. Within this paper, I dig deeper into finding out if this policy put into place actually helps or if it gives students a chance to cheat themselves out of a proper education while continuing to pass to the next grade.
American Red Cross Audit
One intricate part about the Policy Process is making sure the policies put into place allow everyone to have a fair and equal shot at what it is being provided by a government or organization. In addition to that, exposing internal problems and holding members within these entities accountable is pivotal when becoming a part of the Policy Process. This body of work is an audit of the American Red Cross and shows how the organization, which prides itself on helping people in times of disasters, actually misuses funds that are meant to aid these very people in need. As a public administrator a part of the public policy process, it is important to look at other organizations and entities to see where they succeeded and failed in order to adopt rules and regulations in an attempt to prevent such mishaps. Not only do I show stakeholders involved and impacted, but I also give policy solutions in efforts to prevent such problems within an organization.
